UMPI's "YourPace" is a failed attempt at Competency-based learning. The whole premise of competency-based learning is for students who already are familiar with the subject at hand to breeze through the material and move on. These types of programs are for working adults, who are limited with time and need a degree to check a box.

Dual-Degree allows the opportunity for students at MSSM to earn up to two years worth of college credit, and even an Associate’s degree for specific high school courses that they take.
